No. Elevate is open to any teenager grades 6th - 12th who would like to check us out. It doesn’t matter what religion you come from, or if you have a religion at all. You are welcome. Still, we would love for you and your family or friends to attend our church. Elevate youth ministry is just an overflow of the exciting things God is doing in our church as a whole.
A large emphasis is put on our weekly talks. We look into the Bible for answers on:
1. Faith (trusting in a God you cannot see)
2. Moral Boundaries (pursuing mental & physical freedom)
3. Spiritual Habits (a personal relationship with God versus a generic one)
4. Wise Choices (walking wisely in a fool’s world)
5. Healthy Friendships (understanding the power of friends to influence your life)
6. Ultimate Authority (coming to terms with those in authority: parents & God)
7. Others First (moving from being self-centered to being others-centered)
Well yes, sorta.
Christianity is such a general and broad term, so it is hard for us to be lumped into that category, but here are some things we can honestly say we believe by faith are definitely true:
1. Jesus is the Son of God (John 8:58, Exodus 3:14)
2. A relationship with Jesus is the only way to have eternal life in heaven (John 14:6)
3. The Bible is the only book that can be considered God's Word (2 Timothy 3:14-16)
1. Yes. We have a full staff involved for both JV and Varsity. We try to keep a 1-to-7 ratio of adults to teens.
2. Staff members must go through a screening process that includes an extensive written application and a one-on-one interview with the Youth Pastor. They are then allowed to serve in Elevate if they pass this process. For the first 3 months each staff member is in an evaluation period that ends with a check-up. Elevate is careful to have adults who love teenagers and live a lifestyle that can be an example of integrity.
We can’t stand cliques! We work hard to create a place where no one is left out. Part of the experience of Elevate is that teens with different interests, beliefs, musical tastes, unique hairstyles, and odd senses of humor can truly enjoy hanging out together. This is our community and God's delight.
1. Because Dan will make sure little Daniel can spell… correctly
2. Because Dan will make sure little Daniel watches “Pee Wee Herman's Big Adventure” regularly
3. Because Dan will show him how to “head bang” from an early age
4. Because Dan will take whatever measures necessary to ensure that little Daniel is not as short as he is
5. Because the only bad word little Daniel is allowed to say is “stink’n”. And he will make sure he knows how to say it just right
6. Because Dan will turn little Dan into an ELEVATE junkie
7. Because the only reason Dan is cool is because of his wife, Tonya, so imagine what she can do with her own son little Daniel
